Dunstable - 21st February 2009

First flight this year - seems like ages since I was airbourne. Glider recently back from its MOT with The Loft and a nice sunny day wih 8-10 mph forecast. Unusually it turns out to be correct!

Not too many people in the air at any one time, got some reasonable height rather than tree skimming for once. Some nice thermic bubbles breaking through the smooth air. Managed 1hr 15mins before it got a bit blowy and I decided to land at the bottom having seen Hugh go for a dragging on take-off. I'll leave top landing in strong wind to the pro's!

Great to get a 1st flight of the year in without waiting all day for conditions to improve. Lets hope I get more flying done this year.

Great video of the Nova Ibex mountain gliders in action

NOVA IBEX Hike & Fly in Snowdonia, UK from Steve Nash on Vimeo.

This is a video I found of the NOVA IBEX Hike & Fly weekend that was held in Snowdonia. Maybe some lighter gear is in order??? Roll on summer...
